Comparing Mia Bella to other candle companies

A great question was asked of me about how to compare us to other candle companies when speaking to a prospect who is looking at another candle business as well.

This is actually the same whatever other business they are looking at, so I thought I would share it here -

First, I NEVER say anything negative about another company. NEVER, I want to take the higher ground and stand out in that person's mind. I say very little about other companies but I will point out some things that the prospect may want to educate themselves on when selecting a company and doing comparisons.

1. Comp Plan
2. True Retail potential of the product (is there a market and a fair price)
3. Flexibility in selling the product
4. Upline support and tools available - sell the TEAM
5. Cost of autoship
6. Attrition of the downline
7. Quotas

As far as other candle companies or direct sales companies, I always ask what they are looking for and what ways they will work the business.

If the answer is more retail oriented, I stress -

a. 40-60% profits on our products
b. The ability to set your own price
c. The ability to sell in stores and at show/expos. Some companies prohibit these two.
d. Low monthly autoship
e. NO RETAIL OR SHOW QUOTAS (this is a big concern for some)

If the answer is team building -

a. The ability to get paid on 6-8 levels of a downline
b. Low monthly autoship
c. No quotas
d. Simple comp plan
e. No break-aways
f. Low attrition
g. Team Training and Support Available

If they have experience, I just have to mention the word "attrition" and replacing your downline every 60-90 days as people drop out. They ALWAYS know what I am talking about.

I also mention that we have a business where you can seriously make money through retail and not JUST recruiting.

I also mention our training and support resources. We don't just sign people up and leave them. I let them know what our first few steps will be together once they get signed up. Now they know what to expect.

Always sell yourself and your company based on the attributes we offer and not anything negative about another!

Hope that helps!
